Stanley Sanders

Mr. Stanley Sanders passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the age of 91.  He was born on February 22, 1935, in Ada, to James Emit and Ethel Gorham Bryan Sanders.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Stanley lived most of his life in the Ada Area.  When he would travel for work, he somehow always found his way back to Ada and near the end of his life bought the old family homestead where he lived until choosing to move to Pattison, Texas to live with his son.  Stanley will once again return to Ada to be buried beside his loving wife, Bernice.

Stanley married Anna Bernice Whittington on July 3, 1953, in Eunice, New Mexico and they raised 3 wonderful children and created a legacy of faith and family that will carry his loved ones through this difficult time.

Stanley spent the majority of his work life as an electrician and truly enjoyed his time with Arrow Pump here in Ada working as a pump operator.  He was part of the original building of the Konawa Power Plant and also spend 5 years in Sun Ray, New Mexico working for Continental Carbon.

Sports was a great love of Stanley's and he enjoyed watching baseball and basketball games on television and especially in person.  He was blessed to have watched and participated in these sports with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Stanley is preceded in death by his wives, Bernice and Patty; daughter, Jeneay; parents, Emit and Ethel; grandson, Stan; brothers, Eugene, James, Eddie, Robin, Dewayne, and Ray; and sisters, Sandra, Jan, Arla, Betty, Oleta, and Paula.

Although Stanley is no longer with us, his memory will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include: his son, Stanley Dwayne and wife, Brenda, of Pattison, TX; daughter, Tonna and husband, Dewayne Etier, of Peaster, TX; stepsons, Curtis Lee and Lisa Blevins, of Ada, and Kent and Angela Blevins, of Wynnewood, OK; brothers, Gary and wife, Debbie, of Tacoma, WA; Rocky, of Ada, OK, and Michael and wife, Judy, of Kingsport, TN; sister, Wanda Rich, of Ada; six grandchildren, Jimmy, Reneay, Sarah, Wendi, Jason, and Trina; 10 great grandchildren, Avery, Chase, Jacob, Theran, Izzy, Bentley, Ella, Emerson, Kneely, and Kade; and other loving family members, and longtime friends and neighbors.
