DOC GREENWOOD
ADA-Services for Sim Lee "Doc" Greenwood, 86, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Larry Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Hickory Hill Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. A Wake Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Greenwood died Thursday, November 4, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born May 8, 1924 at Franks, Oklahoma to Sim Lee and Nicey Hawkins Greenwood. He attended Franks school.
He married Nora Lewis in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1985. He married Gladys Cravatt Sweet on January 6, 1990. She died July 25, 2001. He later married June Pebworth in December, 2001. Mr. Greenwood was a lineman for People's Electric Cooperative from 1947 until retiring in 1986. He was a member of Blue Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener, and was an active member of the Chickasaw Honor Guard. Mr. Greenwood served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a medic.
Survivors include his wife, June Greenwood, of the home; one son, Tony Lee Greenwood and wife Lucille, Vinemont, AL; two grandchildren, Bethany Greenwood and Kyle Greenwood both of Vinemont, AL; nieces and nephews whom he reared, JoAnna MacCollister, Ada, Patty Pickens, Stonewall, Bobby Pickens, Stonewall, Sandra Johns, Pontotoc, Nancy Lewis, Tuttle, James "PeeWee" MacCollister, Ada, Jami Walker, Ada, Christopher MacCollister, Ada, Vicki Holman, Ada, Cheri Cowhick, Ada, and Peggy Factor, Ada; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lee Roy Greenwood and Hagan Bob Greenwood, two sisters, Naomi Faye Pickens and Millie Mae Greenwood; and two nieces he reared, Patsy Stick and Ida Cowhick.
Bearers will be Glen Leming, James MacCollister, DeWayne Leming, Alvin Tramell, Don Blagg and Bobby Pickens. Honorary bearers will be his co-workers at People's Electric Cooperative.
