SHERMAN BISHOP
ATWOOD-Services for Sherman O. Bishop, 70, Atwood, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvin Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. James Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. Friends may visit at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Allen from 5 p.m. Monday until service time.
Mr. Bishop died at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1942, to Oliver and Virdie Moore Bishop, at Mesa, Arizona. He attended Allen Schools and was employed in the oil field and as a mechanic with George Smith Auto Salvage. Mr. Bishop served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 72, Ada.
He and Evelyn Dicketts were married April 13, 1965. She died Nov. 21, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammie Baumann, Calvin, and Connie Lamirand, Asher; two sons, Kevin Bishop, Konawa, and Randy Bishop, Henryetta; two brothers, Floyd Bishop, Noble, and Dewey Bishop, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Bill Bonnell, Nikki McCoy, Bryce Bishop, Robby Archer, Phillip Lamirand, Falon Lamirand, Dalton Montgomery and Brandon Bishop; and one great-grandchild, Paige McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Bearers are Randy Bishop, Phillip Lamirand, Bill Bonnell, Bryce Bishop, Dalton Montgomery and Chris McCoy. Honorary bearers are Cletus Lowe, Alvin Harden, David Fry, Truman Puckett and Junior Dicketts.
