Shawn Gipson

Services for Shawn Dale Gipson, 41, of Pontotoc, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Randy Wade will officiate. Burial will follow at Seely Chapel in Connerville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Gipson passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at his home. He was born January 5, 1979 at Ada to Donald Harjo and Vonda Gipson. He attended Stonewall schools and graduated from Stonewall High School.

He worked in maintenance and attended Yellow Springs United Methodist Church at Jesse. Shawn enjoyed playing pool, and picking his guitar. He was an excellent artist who enjoyed jamming to his favorite songs.

Survivors include his mother, Vonda Gipson of Pontotoc; two brothers, Frankie Worcester and wife Ashley, Stonewall and Bobby Tyson, Lone Grove; three sisters, Cheresta Factor and husband Jonathon, Oklahoma City, Rachel Brown and husband Scott, Ada and Tisha Bowlegs, Ada; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Andrew and Minnie Gipson; two brothers, Sam Tyson and Jason Tyson; two uncles, Les Gipson and Sonny Gipson; and his step-father, Vernon Factor.

Bearers will be Matt Barnoski, Frankie Worcester, Bobby Tyson, Christian Worcester, Nuk Greenwood, A. J. Barrett and Jonas Camp.
