SAMUEL CLARK
ADA-Services for Samuel James Clark, 78, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Shawn Wiebers will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Clark died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born June 21, 1929 at Allen, Oklahoma to Carson Thurlow and Eva Perry Clark. He was raised in the Oakman community, but lived in Arizona, Texas and California before returning to the Ada area in the late 1980's.
He married Linda Carol Seaman on March 11, 2001 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mr. Clark worked as a welder for Cox Fence Company in Dallas, was a mechanic for the Forest Service in Arizona, and also owned Wee Care Daycare in Ada for many years. He was a member of Crosspointe Church, and he served in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Clark, of the home; three sons, Joe Clark and wife Christina, Prosper, Texas, Jerry Clark, Hartly, Delaware, and James Clark, Ringwood, OK; two step-children, Michael Wiles and wife Amanda, Olive Branch, Mississippi, and Shannon Wood and husband Alden, Searcy, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jason Clark and wife Jennifer, San Antonio, Texas, Dustin Clark, Frisco, Texas, Joy Dawn Clark, Delaware, Jeremy Clark, Delaware, Jessie Lee Clark, Delaware, Alex Wood, Searcy, Arkansas, and Kyle Wood, Searcy, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Don Clark, Ada, and Gene Clark, Konawa; two sisters, Sue Clark, Ada, and Ardell Brown, Bedford, Texas; and other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Wanda Clark, and a sister, Bonnie Brown.
Bearers will be Frank Taylor, Ken Brumley, Louis Daniel, Kenn Hancock, Jack Martin, and Ron Bates.
