Samaria Mayes

Services for Samaria Ann Mayes, 71, of Roff are 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tony Folger and Pastor Jimsey "Dos" Harjo will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery near Sasakwa. A Wake Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mayes passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at a local hospital. She was born June 12, 1947 at Claremore to Ceasar and Irene Harjo Carpitche. She graduated from Konawa High School. She received an Associate's Degree from Seminole Junior College and also attended East Central University.

She married Laurence George Mayes April 17, 1976. Mrs. Mayes had been employed with a machine shop in Lewisville, TX. She was a member of the Roff First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Laurence, of the home; a daughter, Hilda Jeffries and husband Firewolf of Skiatook; a step-daughter, Darlene Mayes; two sisters, Martha Walker and husband Kellos, Shawnee and Emma Carpitche, Shawnee; three brothers, Timothy Carpitche and wife Deanna, Ada, Luther Carpitche, Ada and Oscar Carpitche, Seminole; four grandchildren, Abbey Bessire-Costillo, Anthony Bessire, Cameron Jeffries and Benjamin Jeffries; two great-grandchildren, Ace Costillo and Luca Costillo; her nieces and nephews, Jill Marie Carpitche, Jericho Carpitche, Erica Dawn Williams, John Christopher Carpitche, Craig Carpitche, Cale Carpitche and Clayton Carpitche; three great-nieces, Anna Dickinson, Mynni Dickinson and Tegan Carpitche; and two great-nephews, Ceasar Carpitche and Set Carpitche .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ceasar and Irene Carpitche; her grandmother, Minnie Harjo; and several brothers and sisters.

Bearers will be Anthony Bessire, Stacy Harjo, Jared Williams, Craig Carpitche, Clayton Carpitche and John Christopher Carpitche. Honorary bearers will be Ben Jeffries and Cameron Jeffries.
