SAM BARRETT
Pontotoc-Services for Sam R."Boob" Barrett, 83, of Pontotoc, are 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Pontotoc United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.
Mr. Barrett died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his home in Pontotoc. He was born November 14, 1928 to Berk Barrett and Ida Zelda Duty Barrett. He graduated from Pontotoc High School.
He married Grace Marie Bush on July 5, 1948. She preceded him in death on December 25, 1990. Mr. Barrett worked in the Post Cereal division of General Foods. He served in the United States Army.
Survivors include a son, Arnold Barrett and wife Mary Lou of Battle Creek, Michigan; one daughter, Dianna Brooks, Petal Mississippi; four sisters, Dollie Ann Smith, Reagan, Oklahoma, Reta Gunn, Ada, Oklahoma, Bobbie Hayes, Noble, Oklahoma and Judy Peebles, Houston, Texas; three brothers, Jerry "Turk" Barrett, Pontotoc, Donnie Barrett and Mick Barrett, Midwest City, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Barrett, Seminary, Mississippi; eight grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael R. Barrett.
