Ruth Rogers

Barbara Ruth Rogers, 94 years old, of Ada, Oklahoma passed away on November 16, 2024 at her home. Ruth was born on March 4, 1930 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Evey Lorena Burns Armstrong and Jesse Newton Armstrong. Ruth married William Cody Rogers on June 15, 1946 and they were married 52 years until his death in 1998.

Ruth was a homemaker for most of her early life. She then found herself in the workforce as a secretary for several businesses around the Ada area in her later years. She retired at 72 years of age and enjoyed spending her retirement around family while watching the birds in her yard and tending to her plants with her two green thumbs.

Ruth was saved at the age of 9 years old and faithfully followed her Lord Jesus Christ for 85 years. Next to loving Jesus most, Ruth loved her family and loved to serve them anytime that she could. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Ruth knew of her beautiful sweet smile and genuine gentle nature. Ruth was a very sweet lady that was loved by anyone she got to know!

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, William Cody Rogers, Son, Curt Rogers, Daughter, Barbara Jones, Granddaughter, Susan Stone, two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include daughter, Kelly Payne and husband Steve of the home, son, Cody Rogers and wife Connie of Coalgate, Oklahoma, sister, Shirley Mathis of Red Oak, Texas, 12 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

Family visitation will be held Sunday, November 24th from 3 to 5 PM at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, Oklahoma. Ruth's celebration of life service will be held Monday, November 25th at 10 AM at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, Oklahoma.
