Ruth Pogue

Services for Velma Ruth Pogue, 83, of Oakman are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Richard Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery.

Mrs. Pogue passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born October 6, 1938 in McAlester, OK to Boyd and Ola Ritchey Joplin.

She married R. C. Pogue August 1, 1959 in Dow, OK. Mrs. Pogue worked in the Byng School Cafeteria until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband, R. C. Pogue, of the home; a son, Jimmy Pogue and wife Lisa of Oakman; two daughters, Cheryl Forehand and husband Charles, and Carol Williamson and husband Mike, all of Oakman; a brother, Richard Joplin, Ada; and her grandchildren, Ashley Brady and husband Zac, Stacy Brady and husband Cameron, Lindsay Kates and husband Chris, Kelsey Williamson and wife Jessie, Kortney Sutton and husband Shane, Weston Pogue and wife Amber, Megan Pogue and Ryan Pogue; nine great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Darrell Pogue; sister, Norma Wilson; an infant sister, Elfreda Joplin; and four brothers, Howard, James, Gene, and Wayne Joplin.

Bearers will be Brett Joplin, Kelly Joplin, Marty Joplin, Bobby Joplin, Billy Monks, and Danny Pogue.
