HAZEL ANDERSON
ADA-Services for Ruth Hazel Anderson, 92, Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Drs. George Warren and Roberto Escamilla will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson died Sunday, February 10, 2008 at an assisted living center. She was born August 31, 1915 at Elberton, Georgia to Jasper Clayton and Priscilla Thornton Reid. She attended Elberton, Georgia schools.
She married Boadie L. Anderson on May 21, 1938 in Anderson, South Carolina. He died March 30, 1995 at Ada, Oklahoma. They moved to Frederick, Oklahoma in 1965 and to Ada in 1974. She and her husband owned and operated Boadie L. Anderson Quarries for many years. Mrs. Anderson was a Baptist, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and had served as a Past Worthy Matron.
Survivors include two sons, Edwin R. Anderson and wife Judy, Ada, and Sidney L. Anderson and wife Jan Slater, Tulsa; two grandsons, Boadie L. Anderson, II and wife Tiffany, Ada, and John B. Anderson and wife Kiah, Ada; and five great grandchildren, Avery Anderson, Grace Anderson, Noble Anderson, David Anderson and Matthew Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Fred Herndon Reid, and a sister, Clorene Burton.
Bearers will be Ken Johnson, David Buxton, John Allen Noble, Joe Noble, Boadie L. Anderson II, and John Anderson.
