Rudy Arthur Sparr
Rudy Arthur Sparr was born on July 5,1956 in Red Oak, Iowa. The son of Robert Sparr and Verona “Roni” Viner. Rudy was the oldest of 6 siblings.
Rudy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and a few dear friends on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.
Rudy was preceded in death by his mother Verona “Roni” Rolen and step father Bill Rolen, step mother Joyce Sparr, and brother Michael Sparr.
Rudy is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Sarah Webb and husband Brad, daughter Stacy Vincent and husband Chris, grandchildren Kenan Vincent, Serenity Webb, and Jacqulyn Webb, along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Rudy married Carol Huckleby on October 25, 1980. They were happily married for 46 years. They set a great example of commitment, teamwork and sacrificial love.
After 15 years of working as a machinist, the Lord called him to go to nursing School. He graduated from Tulsa Community College and later went on to get his Bachelors in Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
Rudy worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. He served so many people with love and compassion. He often offered words of comfort and encouragement to his patients and prayed for each one of them. He had a wonderful gift of caring for people in their most vulnerable moments without judgement and brought a steady, peaceful presence to those in need.
Rudy was an active member of his local church, serving in missions, youth and children's ministries, and various other roles through the years. He had a true servant's heart. His passion though, was the camping ministry. Rudy helped so many people young and old encounter Jesus, not only through the word of God and prayer, but also through friendship and “Rudy Games”!! He made everyone feel seen, known, and loved. He helped to make a safe space for people to be themselves and find a place to belong.
Rudy loved being outdoors, fishing, working in his garden, and of course hunting!
He always had a new idea, plan drawn up, project for the kids, or a survival skill he wanted to teach you.
He loved all kinds of food and would definitely let you know if a particular recipe needed "more garlic & jalapeños"!
Rudy was known for his quirky, fun, and outgoing personality. He never met a stranger! He was a man of deep faith and conviction. He always spoke the truth clearly, while also making you feel loved and believed in. Rudy was friends with so many different kinds of people and loved learning about different people and cultures.
Compassionate. Hard working. Determined. He worked hard and provided well for his family. And even at the end of his life when he suffered so much, you would never hear him complain.
He always reminded you to Love God & love your neighbor and put your family first.
The impact of Rudy’s life reaches far and wide.
