IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rozan
Fraser
May 17, 1939 – September 30, 2025
RozAn Fraser
Services for Lily RozAn Fraser, 86, of Plano, TX, formerly of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dean Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Fraser died Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at a Texas hospice facility. RozAn was born just outside Wewoka OK on 5-17-39. She was the only daughter and middle child to Bud and Mamie Roper. She was raised by depression era parents…did not have running water or a toilet.
RozAn attended Wewoka High School and received her diploma in May of 1956. She married Montie Fraser in August of 1959 and they had a son, Garland Fraser in September of 1961. RozAn later attended East Central University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
In 1966 Montie and RozAn moved to Ada as Montie landed a job with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). That same year she accepted a job at Byng High School and moved to Byng from Ada. While she was teaching school, she also continued her education receiving a Master's Degree in Education from Oklahoma State University.
RozAn's only passion, outside of family and her church, was making sure every student that crossed her path had a fair chance to become successful in life…it was her hobby. It was so important to her that she would meet with her students after hours to ensure they reached their potential….Extremely Passionate Educator.
RozAn loved cars and was always striving to have the nicest car possible for her family.
She remarried in 1980 to Jerry Walston of Ada, OK, a few years later they moved from Byng to Ada.
RozAn left Byng High School in 1994, after 27 years, and became Assistant Superintendent to what is now known as Pontotoc Technology Center, a vocational trades school. During her tenure there, she received another Master's Degree from Oklahoma University in Vocational Education.
She officially retired in 1999 and moved to The Oaks in Ada. Her and Jerry owned and operated Ada Rent A Car and soon after that purchased The Tom's Vending Company franchise.
The one word you could describe RozAn with….DEVOTED, to her family, church, and of course education.
RozAn has touched so many lives of young people, and it is very evident when you see just how successful her students became and still are to this day.
