Roy Lee Hall

Memorial service for Roy Lee Hall, 72, of Ada, will be held at Criswell Funeral Home 815 E. Arlington in Ada, Oklahoma Saturday May 5, 2018 at 1pm.

Roy Lee Hall was his name. He was a like a character out of the old west. Standing tall, about 6'5" with cowboy boots and stetson hat.

He was from the type of family bluegrass tunes are made of, coming out of the dark hollers of Pike county Kentucky, born in Pikeville, in 1945 to Roy King Hall and Mary Showers.

He had a strong build from his days going all state- playing football at San Jose State and eventually being drafted to the NFL by the Atlanta Falcons.

He started off as an educator, was in law-enforcement and then made his way into cattle ranching. A dream he had from his early childhood. Ranching made way for dairy farming, and dairy farming made way for bankruptcy but his perseverance did not stop him there.

With the help of a good friend he became an egg broker. Selling large shipments of eggs across the county. Through this he was able to get back on his feet and eventually purchase another ranch in his favorite place, Surprise Valley, California.

He met his wife Bea and her two daughters, Angela and Gina in 1990. They were married the next year and with Bea, they continued to build a legacy.

As the years went on he and Bea would move with their family from ranch to ranch, making their way across the western states until they ended up in Oklahoma.

A few short months ago he and his wife Bea completed their dream house on what he called the prettiest view in that part of the state.

On April 30th, 2018, he passed away surrounded by family. He was a teacher, an athlete, a farmer, a rancher, a businessman, a husband, a father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Bea, sons Ryan and Roger, daughters Stacy, Angela, Juliana, Gena and grandchildren Adrianne, Brianna, Alexandra, Cash, Giada, Gemma, Georgia, Madison, Olivia, Colton, Weston, and Maverick.
