ROXIE GOLDEN
ADA-Services for Roxie Marie Golden, 89, Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Randy Golden, Johnny Barney and Steve Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Golden died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at her home. She was born March 31, 1921 at Fitzhugh, Oklahoma to George Lamberth and Caroline Lavina "Callie" Scott Morgan. She attended Fitzhugh grade school and graduated from Fitzhugh High School. She attended East Central State College.
She married Robert Golden on December 22, 1945. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in December. Mrs. Golden was a homemaker and had also worked at Hazel Atlas Glass Company and McLellans. She was a longtime member of Union Hill Baptist Church, and was an active member of the Union Hill Good Neighbor Club for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Golden, of the home; a daughter, Lynda Callaway and her husband Randy, Ada; a son, Micheal L. Golden and his wife Betty, Fairfax, VA; a sister-in-law, Mildred Clinton, Ada; four grandchildren, Robert Christopher Golden and his wife Emily, Temple, TX, Sarah Ellen Golden, Temple, TX, Rebecca Carlin and her husband Joshua, Ada, and Rachel Haley and her husband Abram, Springfield, LA; a great grandson, Dallas Robert Golden; two step granddaughters, Janna Smith and her husband Ivan and Stephanie Callaway; one step great granddaughter, Lincoln Smith; and a step great grandson, Corbin Smith.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rubye Sprague and Betty Jo Smith; and six brothers, Clarence Morgan, Clyde Morgan, Bill Morgan, Baz Morgan, Paul Morgan and John Morgan.
Bearers will be Bobby Morgan, George L. Morgan, Johnny Hart, Byron Johnson, Wade Golden and Tom Blackwell.
