ROSALIE BIVINS

ADA- Services for Rosalie Corrine Bivins, "Grannie Rosie", 65, Ada, are 10:00 Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Box X Cemetery.

Mrs. Bivins died Monday, October 15, 2007 at her home. She was born on April 10, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Roland and Cecile Petrin Martineau. She came to the Ada area in 1967 from Rhode Island.

She married Leroy Bivins on November 23, 1967 at Ada, Oklahoma. He died on October 13, 2000. Mrs. Bivins was self-employed in Rhode Island as a Jewelry maker. She had worked at Remington Arms, as a welder at Gault Tool Company and Chickasaw Tool Company in Ada, at Look Inc. and Western Uniform. She retired in 1996. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Rita Elaine Phillips.

Survivors include one daughter, Kim Hatton and her husband Bruce, Ada; one son, Michael Bivins and wife Bonnie, Doughtery; two brothers, Robert Martineau and wife Kathleen, and Roland Martineau and wife Marie, both of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren, Ashley Strawn, Heather Hampton, Brandon Hatton, Brandy Hatton, Colton Bivins and Katlynn Bivins; and one great-grandchild, Cooper Elliott.

Bearers will be Cliff Long, Stacy Jackson, James Whitson, Bill Bolin, Henry Whitson, and Shawn Martineau.

Honorary bearers are Colton Bivins, Brandon Hatton, Davo and Don Don Long.
