BYNG-Services for Ronnie Jack Parks Sr., 60, Byng, are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Chaplain Rich Putnam will officiate. Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at Criswell Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Parks died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, near Okeene. He was born Dec. 10, 1951, to Eugene and Alma Nipps Parks at Checotah. He attended grade school at Byng and high school in California. He was employed as a truck driver for Reagent Chemical at Francis. He had previously worked as a truck driver for Steve P. Rados Company in Chino, California. Mr. Parks served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #72 in Ada, where he served as Sgt. of Arms. He was a driving force in the creation of the Veteran's Park in Byng.
He and Vikki Espinosa were married Dec. 11, 1976.
Survivors include his wife, Vikki, of the home; a son, Ronnie Parks Jr., and wife Angie, Byng; a daughter, Nicole Hernandez and husband Juan, Byng; his mother, Alma Parks Sjurset, Byng; five grandchildren, Athena Parks, Makayla Parks, Juan Hernandez, Melissa Hernandez and Reno Hernandez; two brothers, Jon Parks, Ponca City, and Andrew Anderson, Byng; three sisters, Alma Jean Hankins, Santa Cruz, California, Lorraine Parks and husband Tom Daily, Gold Hill, Oregon, and Susie Tingle and husband Joe, Byng; two brothers-in-law, Steve Rose and wife Linda, Clovis, California, and Joe Espinosa and wife Jane, Pasadena, California; and a sister-in-law, Susie Espinosa and Angelo Pullara.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Minnie Nipps, and Arthur and Bertie Parks; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Linda Espinosa; a brother, Franklin Anderson Jr.; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Espinosa Jr. and Raul Espinosa.
Bearers for the service at Criswell Chapel will be Ronnie Parks, Jr., Joe Tingle, Andy Anderson, Mike Nipps, Stanley Sutton and Frankie Anderson. Bearers at the cemetery will be Ronnie Parks Jr., Angelo Pulloara, Raymond Espinosa, Phillip Collasio, JoJo Espinosa, and Juan Hernandez. Honorary bearers are members of the American Legion Post #72.
