Services for Roger Owen Prater, 56, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Restoration Church with Rev. Brock Barrett officiating Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home.

Roger passed away on October 29, 2026, in Edmond, OK. Roger was born on May 31, 1970, to Owen and Shirley (Garrard) Prater. He married Nancy Nickell on February 27, 1999.

Roger loved working with the youth. He and his wife had a rare gift of meeting young people right where they were, listening with a patient heart, and gently turning their eyes toward a lifelong walk with Christ. He was an avid fan of Thunder Basketball. Roger had many artistic talents. He was a wizard with an air brush and has painted numerous items from laptops to complete vehicles as well as any baseball or softball helmet the nieces or nephews needed. He enjoyed playing guitar and loved working on trucks.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Owen Prater.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Prater of the home; his mother, Shirley Prater of Ada, brother, Robert Prater and his wife, Kim of Ada; nieces, Kiersten Madron and husband Colton, Buffy, and Hannah; nephews, Levi Owen Prater and wife Brailyn, Ryan, Chris, Patrick, Jordan, and Clint; along with many great nieces and nephews.
