ROBERTA HARRIS

ADA-Services for Roberta Steward Harris, 90, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Michael Frederick will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery at Francis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harris died Monday, May 26, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born February 14, 1918 at Durango, Colorado to Robert Neil and Cora Marie Whittlesey Steward. She graduated from high school in Ventura, California, and attended San Bernardino Business School.

She married Glenn M. Harris on September 14, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1997 at Ada, Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Ada in 1985 from Victorville, California. Mrs. Harris was a partner of Harris Transportation, Inc. and Ada Sales and Rental. She was a member of Victory Life Fellowship Foursquare Church.

Survivors include a son, Melvin Harris and wife Charlotte, Ada; a daughter, Evelyn Harris, Ada; seven grandchildren, Lavonna Detter, Soquel, California, Sherri Coats, Ada, Debbie Jones, Ada, Larry Harris, Ada, David West, Ada, Wayne Harris, Arlington, TX, and Don West, Ada; five nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Harris.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn West; a son-in-law, Dwight West; three sisters, Leita Mae Steward, Lorraine Bawks, and Claudia Hilton.

Bearers will be Larry Harris, David West, Wayne Harris, Don West, Danny Coats, and Troy Jones.
