ROBERT TAYLOR, JR.

ALLEN-Services for Robert Wesley Taylor, Jr. 47, Allen, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, Revs. Buddy Drake and Gene Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 3:00 p.m. Monday until service time.

Mr. Taylor died Friday, September 25, 2009 at his home. He was born March 19, 1962 at Tucson, Arizona to Robert Wesley Taylor, Sr. and Carole Jean McQuigg Taylor. He attended school in Tucson, AZ and moved to Allen in the late 1970's.

He married Estella Ann Whitehead on August 7, 1981 in Allen. Mr. Taylor was employed with T & W Tire Company until his retirement in May 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Taylor, of the home; two sons, Justin Taylor and wife Daniell, Moore and Sean Taylor and Jessica Baker, Allen; two grandchildren, Tylynn Jay Taylor and Brailee Mae Beck both of Allen; three brothers, Ronnie Jennings and wife Melissa, Atwood, Mike Clark, Wetumka, and John Jennings, Tucson, AZ; his mother-in-law, Joan Whitehead, Allen; a brother-in-law, David Whitehead and wife Mary, Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Jean Clark; his step-father, Hampton Clark; grandmothers, Lois McQuigg and Annie Cotton; his father-in-law, Walter Whitehead; a grandson, Paul Michael Tatum; a nephew, Waylon Jennings; and a very special friend, Tony Rodgers.

Bearers will be Sean Taylor, Robbie Moore, Ronnie Martin, Corey Martin, Chad Martin and Jimmy Dockrey. Honorary bearers will be Roy May, Matthew Moore, Danny Harlin, Ray Spruill, Wayne Tollett, Delbert Faulkner and Jearl Knighten.
