Robert Matlock

Services for Robert Douglas Matlock,76, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Criswell Funeral Home, Brother Homer Morgan and Brother Rod Hoffpauir will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Mr. Matlock went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at a local hospital. He was born May 12, 1948 in Brownwood, TX to George Washington Matlock and Doris Bessie Grooms Matlock.

He married Brenda Inez Johnson on August 26, 1970.  Mr. Matlock served in U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as the minister and also serviced Round Flat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale, TX.

Mr. Matlock enjoyed witnessing to others.  He loved spending time with his family and fishing.  Mr. Matlock never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Matlock of the home; four daughters, Tammy Scott and husband Chris, Kathy Matlock Morris and husband Dustin, Bobbie Hearron and husband Brad and Amy; sister, Dorothy Hanna; nine grandchildren, Larissa Poole, Tiffany Nicole Bulin, Robert D. Matlock, Clint Buffkin, Blake Bulin, Marlie May Hillier, Jayce Hearron, Lindsey Peiper, and Chelsea Hearron; and three great grandchildren, McKenzie Matlock, Brinley-Ann Rea and Winston Poole.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Scotty Matlock, Jerry Wayne Matlock, and George David Matlock; and one sister, Violet.

Bearers are Dustin Morris, Christopher Scott, Brad Hearron, Robby Matlock, Clint Buffkin, and Blake Bulin.
