Obituary

ADA-Services for Robert "Bob" John Reese, 85, Ada, are 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Tony Folger and Glen Hyden will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery. US Navy will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Reese died on Friday, September 21, 2007 at his home. He was born August 10, 1922 at Clements, Kansas, to John M. and Amelia Tschapel Reese. He attended Kansas State University and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma, with a degree in Civil Engineering. While attending the University of Oklahoma, he lettered in basketball, baseball, track and horseshoes. He was later drafted by the St. Louis Browns baseball team, but was recalled into the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He married Billie Jo Gooch on September 3, 1948 in Oklahoma City. She died on October 12, 1998 at Ada. Mr. Reese served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict, serving on the USS Chicago as communications officer on the Admiral Staff.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jo Reese, his parents, a sister, Leah Reese, and a brother, John M. Reese Jr.

Survivors include a son, James Reese and wife, Carol, Hillsboro, OR; two daughters, Patricia Ann Reese, Ada, and Susan Hunzaker and husband, Mark, Cary, NC; five grandchildren, Christopher Reese, Adam Reese, Kaleb Reese, Nathaniel Hunzaker and Michelle Hunzaker; three great grandchildren, Loudyn Reese, Carly Reese and Broderick Reese; two sisters, Mary Niedfeldt, Wamego, KS, Florence Rafferty, Houma, LA; one brother, Roy Reese, Topeka, KS.

Bearers are Christopher Reese, Adam Reese, Kaleb Reese, Nathaniel Hunzaker, Bob Cristelli and Mike Deer.
