Obituary

Robert "Bob" Hatcher was born July 17th, 1933 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 19th, 2023 at the age of 89. He passed away at an Ada nursing home.

Bob was a talented carpenter, baker and quilt maker. He loved to sew and could do leather work, as well as knit. He loved to sing and play the piano. He enjoyed playing the guitar, which he did for many years, as well as other instruments. He grew up in a farming family and loved just about everything about farm life. He especially loved his cows, chickens, gardening and canning. He had a huge heart and loved doing nice things for people, as well as giving things to people that he had made especially for them.

He worked at several businesses in Roff in his early years. He spent the majority of his working life, 30+ years, at Evergreen Mills in Ada where he worked his way up to assistant plant manager.

Bob attended Roff High School, as well as taking classes at East Central University. He joined the Army during the Korean Conflict and was given an honorable medical discharge. On February 17th, 1960 he married the love of his life, Joyce Ellen Marie Summers, and they eventually settled in Lightning Ridge.

Bob was an ordained Free Will Baptist preacher and was an evangelist, traveling the Free Will Baptist circuit for many years. He eventually became the pastor of Stonewall Free Will Baptist Church and then later pastored the Oakman Free Will Baptist Church. His last membership was at the Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and would look forward to Friday and Saturday night singings, for which he would travel all over the state to take part in.

Bob is survived by his son, Robert L. Hatcher II and his wife Kelly; son, Darryl Hatcher and his wife Mary; Grandchildren, Jessica Hatcher, Alexandria Van den Berg, Cody Standifer, Victoria Standifer, Kathryn Hogue, Teresa DeAnda, Anna Hatcher and Gage Hatcher; great grandchildren, Alexis, Kierra, Kenci, Cholie, Braden, Aubrey, Delaney, Davean, Dashae, Melody, Mason, Maritza and Mariah; and one great-great grandchild, Azorian; as well as numerous relatives and church families that he loved dearly.
