BOBBIE GOSS
STONEWALL-Services for Robbie Lee "Bobbie" Goss, 92, Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Stonewall, Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Goss died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at a Stonewall nursing home. She was born September 10, 1918 in Oklahoma City to Robert and Addie Proffitt Goff. She and her family moved to Tupelo and she graduated from Tupelo High School.
She married Lloyd Leroy Goss on October 6, 1935. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1996. She and her husband moved to Stonewall and opened Goss Dry Goods store which they ran until retiring in 1975. During those 40 years they were active in the First Baptist Church of Stonewall and many civic activities. Upon retiring, they purchased a Winnebago motor home and continued their love of traveling. They spent their winters in McAllen, TX where they were active in square dancing.
Survivors include their son, Jim Goss, Stonewall; a grandson, Brad Goss and wife Kim and their children Rachael, Alex and Lindsey of Ardmore; a granddaughter, Deanna Chambers and her husband Randy and their children Sam and Sara of Norman; two step-grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Dr. Jeff Sallee and their children Katelyn, Emily, Tyler and Allie of Stillwater, and Christie Greco and her husband Clayton and their daughter, Conner Jade of Dallas, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, her sister, Hope Smith and her brother, Doug Goff.
Bearers are Bill Newport, Jim Mills, Mike Newport, Lee Sweat, Marvin Carter, Tim Hall and Kenneth Murphy.
