Rita "Cookie" Branscum

Services for Rita Marie "Cookie" Jackson Branscum, 67, of Norman, formerly of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bud Wolfe will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Mrs. Branscum passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at her home in Norman. She was born November 20, 1949 at Fittstown to Carl Harlan and Florence Marcella Snow Jackson. She graduated from McLish High School and attended the Vo-Tech in McAlester to become a licensed practical nurse.

She married Donnie Branscum May 10, 1986 in Stonewall. He preceded her in death November 15, 2004. Mrs. Branscum was an LPN at Valley View Regional Hospital for over 30 years and also at Rolling Hills Hospital. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Betty Schafer of Roy, UT and Deborah Gentry and husband David of Norman; a brother, Jim Jackson of Stratford; two step-daughters, Kari Hutchens of McLoud and Kristina Fleming of Shawnee; and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
