ADA-Services for Ricky Darnell "Slick Rick" Daniels, 55, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Faith Baptist Church in Ada. Pastor Luther John will officiate. Burial will follow at Leader Cemetery.
Mr. Daniels died Monday, January 7, 2013 at an Ada hospital. He was born February 4, 1957 in Ada, Oklahoma to Oshiel Daniels, Jr. and Doris Richardson Daniels. He lived most of his life in the Ada area, attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School in 1975. He moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma and started working with O G & E as a boilermaker and then became a welder while there. He moved back to Ada in 1991.
He married Ruth Howard. Mr. Daniels loved to cook and read. He loved westerns and he was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Ruth Howard, of the home; brothers, Bruce Daniels and wife Keri, Jeffery Daniels and wife Terri of Tulsa, Derek Daniels and wife Delores of Ada, and Steven Daniels and wife Whitney of Oklahoma City; a sister, Michele Daniels of Oklahoma City; two step-sons, Bryan Howard and wife Julie of Ada, and Robert Howard; two granddaughters, Bryana Howard and Chayne Howard; his aunts, Jewel Bolton, Linda Richardson and Billie Campbell; a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandmothers, Carrie Richardson and Drusilla Ponds.
