RICK AND SANDY WOODWARD

BYNG-Memorial services for Rickey Neal "Rick", 50, and Sandra Janett "Sandy" Woodward, 49, Byng, are 11:00 a.m. Friday at Trinity Baptist Church, Rev. Jasper Ligon will officiate.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodward died Sunday, December 9, 2007 near Okemah, Oklahoma. Rick was born August 29, 1957 at Ada, Oklahoma to Cecil Earl and Birtie Lee Boren Woodward. He lived in this area all his life and attended Homer Elementary and graduated from Byng High School in 1975. He attended Oklahoma State University. Sandy was born August 1, 1958 at Santa Ana, California to Alan and Betty Bryant Waldenville. She attended elementary school at a U. S. Military Base in Yokosuka, Japan. She moved to this area in the summer of 1975 and graduated from Ada High School in 1976. She attended East Central University and the Pontotoc County Vo-Tech.

They were married on July 31, 1976 at Lovelady Baptist Church. Mr. Woodward was the owner and operator of Rick's Body Shop in Byng, He was a member of the Pontotoc County Fair Board, where he was a longtime supporter of the County Livestock Show, and a member of ABC Bowling League. Mrs. Woodward was the secretary for the Continuing Education Department at East Central University. They were members of New Bethel Baptist Church, where Sandy was a member of the Baptist Women. Mrs. Woodward was also active in scrapbooking and she was the best birthday card maker ever!!

Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Ann Griffin and husband Gaylon, Ada, and Emily Gayle Sharp and husband J. B., Dickson; a granddaughter, Rae Anna Griffin, Ada; her parents, Alan and Betty Waldenville, Norman; his mother, Birtie Lee Scroggins, Ada; her brother, Arthur Waldenville, II and wife Libby, Norman; his brother, Nicky Woodward and wife Regina, Steedman; his sister, Vickie Delozier and husband Roger, Byng; three nephews, Bryan and Scott Waldenville, Norman, and Calem Woodward, Steedman; three nieces, Christie Horton, Ada, Cassie Goodwin, Ada, and Caitlin Woodward, Steedman; and two great nieces.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Earl Woodward.

Honorary bearers will be employees of Rick's Body Shop, Bronson "Bob" Roppel, Shane Russell "Bill" Whitlock, Charlie "Uncle Charlie" Woodward, and also Larry Bryant, Rick Wetherill, George Roppel, Kevin Nickel, Dennis Cavins, Lyle Henderson, John Little, Russell Brundridge, Jim Price, Tex Seymour, Tommy Key, Jerry "Pockets" Nelson, and Dennis Clymer.

Rick and Sandy were generous and friendly to everyone they met. They loved God. They loved each other, and they leave behind a legacy of love.
