RICK SMITH

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA-Services for Rick Alan Smith, 41, Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the St. James Church of God in Christ, Rev. Charles Miller and Elder Alfred Douglas will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Friday, June 5, 2009 at Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born September 30, 1967 at Ada, Oklahoma to Andre Smith and Andrea E. "Tina" Moore. He graduated from Ada High School in 1985.

He married Cheryl Knighton on February 18, 1990. Mr. Smith was a Manager at Taco Bell in Las Vegas and a football coach. He attended the International Church of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Smith, of the home; three sons, Demetrius, Thaddeusz, and Tobias; and two daughters, Jasmine and Jenesis, all of Las Vegas, NV; his mother, Andrea "Tina" Moore, Ada; special sister, "Lil" Debra Sauls, (Dittra); siblings, Jessica Moore, McLoud, Tyrus Moore, Alva, and Tyrone Moore, Lexington; great aunts, Alberta Ross and Vera Fortson, both of Oakland, CA; great uncle, Al Kemp, Borger, TX; aunts, Bernice Carolyn Sauls, Ada, Debra Stevens and D'Ann Kelly, Oklahoma City, and Karen Wilkerson, San Diego, CA; uncle, Steven Guidry, Lawton; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Elder J. V. Moore, Sister Margaret Moore, and Sister Thelma Sauls

Bearers will be Virgil Nelson, Duane Hysten, James D. Moore, Phillip Mitchell, Sam Langley, Tyrone Frazier, Marquis Carter, and Tom Kelly. Honorary bearers will be Tyrus Moore, Charles Kemp, Michael Sauls, Janquil Rogers, Demetrius Smith, and Thaddeusz Smith. Flowers bearers will be LaShonda Davis, Leta Grant, Tonya Rasmussen, Victoria Douglas, Oretha Hysten, Eshawa Brown, Adriene Joubert, and Mary McFadden.
