RICHARD SEXTON
FITTSTOWN-Services for Richard R. Sexton, 91, of Fittstown, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Fittstown, Chaplain Susan Ayers will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.
Mr. Sexton died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at his home. He was born March 29, 1922 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to John D. and Annie Belle James Sexton. He attended school in the Greenleaf Community near Spalding.
He married Marjorie Isabell "Midge" Grizzle on March 1, 1941. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2004. He and his family moved to the Fittstown area in 1952 from the Sasakwa and Holdenville area. Mr. Sexton was a mechanic in the oilfield until his retirement.
Survivors include his children, Jim Sexton and his wife June of Velma, Don Sexton and his wife JoAnn of Union Valley, Pat Weldon and her husband Bill of Stonewall, Ronnie Sexton and his wife Sally of Fittstown, and Loretta Slifer and her husband Dan of Stonewall; two sisters, Bessie Troutman and Oneta Foran, both of Holdenville; 49 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two great grandchildren; two brothers and six sisters.
