ADA-Services for Richard F. Hardcastle, 85, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the Colbert Baptist Church, Bob Payne will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakman Cemetery with the Chickasaw Honor Guard conducting military rites.
Mr. Hardcastle died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at his home. He was born February 24, 1927 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Roy Hardcastle and Effie Brown Hardcastle. He attended Holdenville schools.
He married Rovilla Manuel on April 6, 1946. He was a member of the Colbert Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enlisted with the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II and served as a medic on Okinawa Island in the Pacific. He was the retired owner of a heavy equipment company here for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Rovilla Hardcastle, of the home; three sons, Richard Ray Hardcastle and wife Sheryl of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Bobbie H. Hardcastle and wife Donna of Umatilla, Florida, and Ronnie H. Hardcastle and wife Carla of Port Lavaca, Texas; one sister Onetia Manuel of Ada; seven grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Robby Hardcastle, Chris Hardcastle, Brenton Uptergrove, Sean Hardcastle, Lonnie Roy Manuel and Mark Manuel.
