Memorial services for Richard Delano Dveney, 81, of Ada are 10:00 Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bro. Mickey Hollars will officiate.
Mr. Dveney died Monday, May 11, 2020 at his home. He was born January 30, 1939 in Harden City to Dick and Zelma Phillips Dveney. He graduated from Ada High School in 1957. He was a member of the 1956 State Champion Football team.
He married Trudy Crumb in June 1961. She preceded him in death. He later married Linda Kay Yockey in 1994. Richard worked many different occupations, several years of management in manufacturing at J. P. Emco and Blue Bell. He also sold insurance and owned Tricky's Tackle Shop. Richard was an avid fisherman, member of Ada Bass Club, and member of Ada Baptist Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; son, Tyrone Dveney and wife Cherie, Norman; grandson, Travace Dveney, Ada; granddaughter, Tessa Gorrell, Francis; two step-sons, David Yockey and Larry Yockey, Ada; step-daughter, Kelly Bronnenberg, Ada; twenty grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Farvis and husband Mark, Poteau; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Trudy; and four sisters, Leota McDaniel, Wanda Newlund, Betty Bush and Nancy Pendergrass.
Richard loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart and loved his family more than they will ever know. His life verse is Romans 8:28.
