RICHARD JACKSON
ADA-Services for Richard Dean Jackson, 56, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Ada Church of the Nazarene, Rev. Jim Knight will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall.
Mr. Jackson died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his home. He was born January 19, 1957 in Rockdale, Texas to Monora and I. B. Bounds Jackson. He attended Rockdale, Texas schools and also Southern Nazarene University in Bethany for four years.
He married Sherry June Sliger on September 12, 1980. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2008. Mr. Jackson was a forklift operator for George Fisher Mfg. Company and a member of the Ada Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son, Jarrod Jackson of Ada; a daughter, Jayce Jackson of Ada; two sisters, Barbara Sue Needham and her husband Billy of Cameron, TX, and Rosemary Gerthe and her husband Chris of Ruidoso, NM; a brother, Johnny Jackson and his wife Sandy of Rockdale, TX; and a granddaughter, Payten Pratt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Andy Jackson.
Bearers will be his nephews, Eric Gerthe, Deiter Gerthe, Chad Sliger, Chris Sliger, Robert Long and Sean Childress. Honorary bearers will be members of the Ada Church of the Nazarene: Kent Lee, Darrell Langwell, Terry Lee, Eric Lee, and Bryan Lee.
