RENEE HOOD

ADA-The family of Renee Genise Hood, 43, Ada, will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Criswell Funeral Home.

Ms. Hood passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in Stratford after losing her courageous battle with Breast Cancer. She was born July 31, 1967, in Ada, to Ulma Gene and Wanda Lois Coley Hood. Renee graduated from Ada High School in 1985. She attended East Central University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science in 1994. Renee went on to University of Oklahoma where she graduated with a Master's degree in Environmental Management. Renee worked for the Chickasaw Nation's Planning Department which included 3 years as a full time grant writer. Renee also worked as the Executive Director of the Absentee Shawnee Training Institute.

Survivors include brother Dr. Ronald Hood and wife Donna, Broken Arrow; sister, Rhonda Gale Hood, Stratford; and brother Robin Hood and wife Rebecca, Stratford; nieces, Natalie Hood and Nicole Hood, Broken Arrow; nephew, Ryan Hood, Ada; niece Misty Luper, her husband Joel, and children of Denison; nephew, Chad Ridgway and his wife Suzy, and children of Oil Center; and numerous other relatives and friends. Renee was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Lois (Coley) Hood, and her father, Ulma Gene Hood.
