Mrs. Scribner died Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the OU Medical Facility in Oklahoma City.

She was born on the family farm at Bryan Township, Coal County, near Tupelo, on July 12, 1935 to Opal Blanche Dame LaFevers and Virgil Lee LaFevers. She was the first of four children born to this union and was a daddy's girl. Her father's untimely death when she was 12 years old left her and the rest of her family devasted. To make matters worse, all their belongings perished in a fire soon after. Despite the tragedies, she stepped up, along with her little sister, to help her Mother make a home and care for her infant brother. She attended Stonewall Schools and was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She was of the Protestant Faith and attended the Assembly of God Church when she lived in Stonewall.

She married William Harold "Bill" Scribner in 1972. She made her home in Renton, Washington where her husband worked for Boeing Aircraft Company. After her husband's retirement, she and her husband relocated to Stonewall where she spent many wonderful years with her family close by.

She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Scribner, infant son Stanley Keith Blevins, daughter Debra Kay Egger, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil LaFevers, an infant brother Donald Wayne LaFevers, step father T.J. Helms, step sister Linda Gail Helms Massey and step brother Ricky Dale Helms.
