ADA-Services for Raymond Lavern Voyles, 89, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at The River church, Revs. Robert Ware and Ken Butler will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Voyles died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his home. He was born August 11, 1923 in Ada, Oklahoma to Clifford Coy and Lillie Mae Creech Voyles. He attended schools at Fillmore, Pecan Grove, Happyland and Center.
He married Nay Dean Roundtree on August 15, 1942. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2008. Mr. Voyles was self-employed in the refrigeration business. He was a longtime member of The River Church where he served as Deacon for many years. Mr. Voyles served in the U. S. Army from 1943 until 1946.
Survivors include a son, Gary Raymond Voyles of Ada; a daughter, Iva Lou Gilliam and husband David of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Jeanna Gregory, Ada, Maggie Voyles, Pauls Valley, Anna Sikes, Ada, Cara Rathbone and Alex Jones, both of Tulsa; 8 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and a brother, Milton Voyles of Lawton.
Bearers will be Randall Shumard, Wylie Shumard, Johnny Hooser, Glen Voyles, Jack Shumard, and Kenny Shumard.
