RAY WALKER
ADA-Services for Ray Cecil Walker, 94, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Southwest Church of Christ, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Walker died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at a local nursing home. He was born March 6, 1914 at Pottsville, Arkansas to Arthur C. and Effie Vera Long Walker.
He married Delma Scott on May 10, 1947 at Seminole, Oklahoma. Mr. Walker was a truck driver for Home Oil Company until his retirement. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ and had served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Glenn D. Pendergrass, Ada; two sisters, Vera Andrews, Tulsa, and Ruby Hook, Worland, WY; a brother, Robert "Sonny" Walker, Kansas City, MO; nieces, Clarissa Smith, Ada, Sue Brendle, Ada, Janice Hendryx, Oklahoma City, Gina Hendryx, Oklahoma City, Nancy Hughes, Olathe, KS, Susan Pierce, Frederick, MD, Cheryll Pederson, Worland, WY, and Linda Medlock, Seminole, OK; nephews, Brian Pendergrass, Ada, Don Gold, Tulsa, Robert Hook, Ervine, CA, Terry Yarbrough, Seminole, OK, and Robert Walker, Kansas City, MO; his cousins, Oscar Edwards, Oakdale, CA, Tom Edwards, Choctaw, and Vernon Dean Edwards, Shidler, OK; and great nieces, Alexis Brendle and Alyson Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a niece whom he reared, Laura Beth Scott Pendergrass, a brother, Floyd Walker and two sisters, Pauline Kline and Reba Hendryx.
Bearers will be Alvin Jamar, Elmer Gerth, Eugene Cannon, Alan Simpson, Bobby Johns, and Scott Estes.
