Ray Simmons
ADA-Services for Clarence Ray Simmons, Jr., 75, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Toby Willoughby will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Simmons died Monday, March 16, 2015 at an Oklahoma City hospice. He was born September 29, 1939 in McAlester to Clarence Ray Simmons and Eula Mable Chasteen Simmons.
He married Nora Leona Manuel on September 16, 1966 in Poplar, California. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2008 in Ada. He and his family moved to Ada in 1966 from California. Mr. Simmons had been employed in various jobs throughout his life. He worked as a water and sewage works maintenance operator, and had a double AA certification. He was of the Holiness and Baptist faith.
Survivors include his grandchildren, Timothy Brian Williams, Christopher Daniel Williams, Teresa Denise Dill and Elizabeth Raylene Williams; his great-grandchildren, Ryan and Brenden Dill, Kaleb John Dill, Christian Ray Watham, Mila Louiza Williams Smith and Thomas Dontae McDowell, Nakiya Teresa Mae, Kaylee Ann Williams and Kimber Leona Williams; two brothers, Clarence Eugene Simmons and Jess David Lancaster; and two sisters, Betty Louise Davis and Carol Carmella DeGlurse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Teresa Simmons; and three brothers, Howard Lee Simmons, Lawrence Ray Simmons and Marvin Lee Lancaster.
Bearers will be Aaron Lancaster, Chase Lancaster, J. T. Davis, Timothy D. Williams, Ryan Dill and Matthew Smith. Honorary bearers will be Jess David Lancaster and Dakota Davis.
