Ray Sanders

No services are planned at this time for Ray Loyd Sanders, 79, of Ada.

Mr. Sanders died Thursday, June 26, 2025 at his home.  He was born September 19, 1945 in Ada, OK to James Emit and Ethel Gorham Bryan Sanders.

He married Sandra Lance on May 23, 1968.  Mr. Sanders served in the U.S. Navy, was employed with the Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation for 27 years and later employed with the Pontotoc Technology Center.  He was an active member of the Evangelistic Temple, where he was involved with the children's ministry and later a member of Crosspointe Church. He loved horses and enjoyed team roping.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, of the home; a son, Shannon Sanders of Ada, OK; brothers, Stanley Sanders, Houston, TX, Michael Sanders, Kingsport, TN, Rock Sanders, Jesse, OK, and Gary Sanders, Tacoma, WA; sisters, Wanda Rich, Ada, OK and Paula Elliott, Seminole, OK; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene Sanders, James Sanders, Eddie Sanders, Robin Sanders and Dewayne Sanders; and sisters, Arla Pontanini, Oleta Cushman, Sandra Sanders and Jan Sanders.
