Ray Hatton
Ray Hatton, born November 2, 1941, at Owl Creek, Oklahoma, passed away September 9, 2026, at the age of 84.
The son of Roy Hatton and Evelyn Lena Leslie Hatton, Ray grew up in Stonewall, Oklahoma, where he attended Stonewall High School. He continued his education at East Central State University, the University of Tulsa, the University of Oklahoma for his master’s degree and the University of New Mexico Law School. He was a public relations arbitrator for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft until his retirement.
On October 5, 1963, Ray married Randy Maye Standridge at Kathryn Boswell Memorial Chapel on the campus of East Central State College in Ada. They shared more than 41 years of marriage before Randy’s death in 2005 and raised three children: Kerrie Guevara of Ada, Oklahoma; Kevin Hatton of Los Angeles, California; and Alex Hatton of Norman, Oklahoma.
Ray played a pivotal role in securing recognition from the United States Congress for the Chickasaw Constitution that preceded statehood.
Ray’s legacy continues through his children and his six grandchildren: Marissa Hatton, Marina Hatton, Kaleigh Traywick, Rogan Simmons, Breckin Guevara, and Ryleigh Brooks; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Patrick Hatton; and two sisters, Oleta Covington and Freda Grissom.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Randy Maye Standridge Hatton, and his parents, Roy and Evelyn Hatton.
Services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
