LEFTY WOFFORD
ADA-Services for Ralph "Lefty" Wofford, 80, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Billy Wayne Sluder and Chad Coleman will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Wofford died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at a local hospital. He was born January 14, 1928 at Lane, Oklahoma to Fred and Lottie Mae Sluder Wofford. He attended Lula and Hall's Hill schools. He lived in the Ada area all his life.
He married Wilma Lou Brooks on September 8, 1945 at Coalgate, Oklahoma. Mr. Wofford was an auctioneer, farmer and rancher and also owned and operated Lefty's Truck Stop for 12 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stonewall, a 32 degree Mason with the Bright Star Lodge in Allen for 56 years, a member of the Shriner's and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Lou Wofford, of the home; one son, Willis Lee Wofford and wife Judy, Sulphur; two daughters, Karen Ann Coleman and husband Bob, Mannsville, and Wilma Darlene Marsh, Walnut Grove, MO; seven grandchildren, Angela Ranae Helms, Dava Lea Wofford, Cori Jo Mataska, LeAnna Darlene Eubanks, Thomas Chad Coleman, Melissa Darlene Brown, and Tommie Lynn Brower; fourteen great grandchildren; six sisters, Nanna Lou Click, Arlington, TX, Shirley Jean Jefferies, Ada, Ruth Shaw, Ada, Ruby Standridge, Ada, June Nemecek, Ada, and Eva Mae Shaw, Ada; and three brothers, Jesse Edward Wofford, Lula, Clyde Wofford, Lula, and Carl Wofford, Ada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Earl Wofford and Fred Ross Wofford.
Bearers will be his grandson, Chad Coleman, and grandsons-in-law, Clyde Helms, Himey Mataska, Mark Brower, Jimmy Eubanks, and Bryan Brown. Honorary bearers will be Tommy Landrith, Bryan Roark, Jim Speed, Tommy McNeill, Frank Jared, Ken Hudson, and Jeff Ward.
