RALPH LACRONE, JR.
STONEWALL-Graveside services for Ralph W. LaCrone, Jr., 85, Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall, Danny Stewart will officiate.
Mr. LaCrone died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at a local nursing home. He was born December 30, 1925 in Arondale, Osage County, Oklahoma to Ralph W. and Georgia May Kamm LaCrone. After graduating from Hominy High School in 1943, he served in the U. S. Army in London. He was a ball turret gunner and waist gunner on B17 Flying Fortress bombers for the 570th Squadron of the 390th Bombardment Group. After the war, he attended Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater and went to work for Humble Oil Company in Harden City, OK.
He married Patricia Ann Osborn on May 26, 1951. They made their home for the last 60 years near Stonewall. He retired from Exxon after 30 years working in Harden City and Seminole. He worked for Clopay Overhead Door in Ada and operated a cattle ranch until the last cow was sold in 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Pat LaCrone, of the home; a daughter, Janice Stokes and her husband David, McKinney, TX; a son, Gary LaCrone, Little Elm, TX; grandsons, Jon Stokes and Bryan Stokes and his wife Gabrielle, Austin, TX; great grandson, Dylan Stokes; his brothers, LeRoy LaCrone, Skiatook, OK, Don LaCrone and Max LaCrone, Hominy; and sisters, Marlene McClain, Carol Shadlow and Margie Sims, Hominy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bob LaCrone and Eugene LaCrone.
