R. B. TARWATER
ADA-Services for R. B. Tarwater, 88, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Joe T. Dixon will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Tarwater died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at a local hospital. He was born November 7, 1919 at Center, Oklahoma to M. Tom and Rachel Bray Tarwater. He lived in this area all his life and attended Byng schools.
He married Birdie Reed on January 1, 1949. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2003. Mr. Tarwater was the owner and operator of Tarwater Feed here in Ada, and later he retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. After his retirement, he was an avid gardener and he and his wife enjoyed camping at Lake Texoma. He was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Morris Haney and husband J. D., Ada; one brother, Edward Tarwater, Richmond, VA; a grandson, Randy Morris and wife Jan, Branson, MO; two great grandsons, Chase Morris, Ada, and Zane Morris, Ada.
Bearers will be Sonny Griffin, Mickey Ballard, Charles Norton, Terry Gardner, Zane Morris, and Chase Morris.
