PHYLLIS BETHUNE
ALLEN, TEXAS-Services for Phyllis Mildred Bethune, 88, Allen, Texas, formerly of Ada, are 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Criswell Chapel, Rev. Harold Ware officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Bethune died on Sunday, September 12, 2010, in Allen, Texas. She was born October 23, 1921, in Independence, Kansas, to Jack Henry and Lily Gayle Perkins Schultz. She was a retired bookkeeper, having worked for Montgomery Ward's, Gibson's and for the Rollow family. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
She married Marion L. Bethune on March 19, 1938. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Gaylene DeMunck and husband Robert, Allen, Texas; a son, Bob Bethune and wife Patricia, Deer Park, Texas; four grandchildren, Lindsay Groves, Kristin Groves, Kim Cordray and Kevin Bethune; and three great grandchildren, Colby Cordray, Jacob Groves and Joshua Groves. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Duke and Aleene Brewster.
