CORRENE BARNES
ROFF-Graveside services for Phyllis Correne Barnes, 76, of Roff are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at East Hill Cemetery in Roff. Rev. Toby Willoughby will officiate.
Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was born August 1, 1935 in Ashland, Oklahoma to Cecil C. and Vera Nell Morgan Campbell. She and her family moved to Pontotoc County in 1945 from Quinton, Oklahoma. She attended Union Hill, Latta and McLish grade schools and graduated from McLish High School in 1953.
She married Richard Lee Barnes in March, 1953. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2012 in Roff. Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker and for several years was a foster-parent. She was a member of the 7th Day Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Lee Barnes and wife Debbie of Roff; sister, Barbara Elaine Price of Ada; grandson, Travis D. Barnes of Ada; great grandson, Tanner Barnes of Ada; a sister-in-law, Patsy Barnes of Roff; her step-grandchildren, Troy Stanberry, Moore, Travis Stanberry, Ada, and Trent Stanberry, Coalgate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Terry Wayne Barnes.
Honorary bearers will be Randy Daniels, Dean Price, Gary Price, Jason Price, Tim Shelton, Johnny Barnes, Richard Barnes and Lance Reed.
