PHIL RAY
ADA-The family will host a memorial service for Phillip Arthur Ray, 72, of Ada, 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Ada, Rev. David Daniel will officiate.
Mr. Ray died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at a local hospital. He was born June 20, 1942 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Chester Arthur and Kathryn Jane Mitchell Ray. He attended grade school in Idabel and graduated from Marietta High School. He graduated from East Central University in 1966 with a degree in Psychology and Biology. He was a charter member of Phi Kappa Alpha at East Central.
Mr. Ray was the owner and operator of a retail uniform shop in Salina, Kansas. While living in Salina, he served on the Salina City Council and was a member of the Salina Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his mother, Jane Ray of Ada; two daughters, Tammy Johnson and husband Drew of Ada and Kristen McGehee and husband Bill of Stonewall; two brothers, Mitch Ray and wife Eddie of Edmond and Steve Ray and wife Holly of Olathe, KS; six grandchildren, Jarrod Sestak, Jacob Sestak, Lilly Sestak, Rylee McGehee, Ashton Johnson and Andrew Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death his father.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
