Philip Marler

Graveside services for Philip Lee Marler, 65, of Purcell, formerly of Allen are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery near Wewoka.

Mr. Marler passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Purcell Municipal Hospital. He was born November 13, 1951 in Ada to Harold L. and Alfreda Stout Marler. He grew up in Allen and graduated from Allen High School. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Kilgore, TX.

Philip married Leura Chesser June 1, 1974. Mr. Marler was a self-employed oil and gas producer. He and his family have lived in Purcell for 26 years.

Survivors include his wife, Leura, of the home; two sons, David Bret Marler and wife Michelle of Ardmore and Kirk Marler and wife Heather of Norman; an aunt, Louise Pogue of Ada; cousin, Marcus Pogue and his wife Debbie of Ada, and their son, Tyler James Pogue and his family of Hugo; his mother-in-law, Bobbydine Chesser of Wewoka, brother-in-law, Robin Chesser and his wife Diane of Wewoka; sister-in-law, Merry White and husband Simy of Wewoka; and two nephews and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
