PEGGY NEWCOMBE

ADA-Services for Mary Jo "Peggy" Newcombe, 80, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. John Haynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Newcombe died Monday, February 4, 2008 at her home. She was born April 16, 1927 at Hickory, Oklahoma to John and Opal Posey Brents. She was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Horace Mann High School. She attended East Central State College. She married Tony Newcombe in 1946. He died January 13, 2003. Mrs. Newcombe was a bookkeeper for Lambert, Roberts and Jaques Attorneys for 40 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Burns and husband Merle, Ada; son, Mike Newcombe and wife Susan, Oklahoma City; daughter-in-law, Pam Newcombe, Ada; a sister, Johnie Glen, Healdton; six grandchildren, John Newcombe, Matt Newcombe, Katy Newcombe, Roben Hunter, Jana McQuain, and Mandi Newcombe; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jerry Brents, and a son, Monte Newcombe.

Bearers will be John Newcombe, Terry Jordan, Caroll Brents, Frank Brents, Bruce Brents, and Tom Landrith.
