Peggy Holmes

Graveside memorial services for Peggy Jean (Hestilow) Holmes, 79, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hanna Cemetery, near Dustin, OK.

Mrs. Holmes passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at a local hospital. She was born March 4, 1941 at Borger, TX to Daniel Hubert and Lucille Brown Hestilow. She graduated from high school in Borger, TX and later moved to this area.

She married William Holmes. He preceded her in death about 2005. Mrs. Holmes had been a social worker and of the Baptist faith. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening and sewing.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Godeaux, Gassville, AR, Russell Holmes, Ada, Robert Holmes, Cleveland, TX, Monica Holmes, Mt. Home, AR, Donna Smith, Ada and Billy and Gina Baker, Livingston, TX; a sister, Priscilla Green, Shawnee; brother, Ronald Hestilow, Borger, TX; her grandchildren, Christopher Godeaux, MO, Dallas Godeaux, Ohio, Courtney Gamboa, TX, Rachel Holmes, TX, Jessica Holmes, and Taylor Holmes and Heather Harris, both of Mt. Home, AR; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Dorthy Helen Hestilow; and a great-grandson, Furious Bembry.
