BROKEN BOW-Services for Pauline Laverne Smith, 95, of Broken Bow, formerly of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bob Langston will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Broken Bow. She was born March 3, 1918, in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma to James Earl and Nora Belle Ables Childress. She graduated from Fitzhugh High School.
She married Joe Henry Smith on March 20, 1936, in Ada. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2001, in Ada. Mrs. Smith was a beauty operator for over 40 years and worked at Gladys Beauty Shop in Ada until she retired in her mid to late 70's. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ada.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Joe Smith and wife Ardis of Branson, MO, and Don Smith and wife Brenda of Sherman, TX; her grandsons, Joel Dickerson and wife Kim of Broken Bow, Alan Dickerson and wife Kimberley of Reading, PA, Darrell Smith of Muskogee, James Smith and wife Heide of Branson, MO, and Michael Smith of Sherman, TX; her granddaughters, Paulette Burnett of Ada, Lori Cripe of Sherman, TX, and Tina Godwin, Murfreesboro, TN; her great- grandchildren, Kohl Dickerson, Tyler, Tiffany and Katlyne Self and Josiah, Micah and Madeline Dickerson, Jeffery Gipson, Jeremy Cripe, Brooke Smith, Ashley Spies, Kristina Everingham, Jeremy and Derek Godwin; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Smith; daughter, Carole Dickerson; brother, Norman Childress; and sister, Winona Stewart.
