Services for Paula Gail Stanford, 79, of Ada are Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00 in the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.
Mrs. Stanford passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at an Oklahoma City nursing home after an illness. She was born June 26, 1943 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Glen Edward and Verda White Scott. She graduated from Ada High School in 1961.
She married Joe Dowell Stanford April 17, 1970. He preceded her death September 27, 2015. Mrs. Stanford was a mother and homemaker to four children while her husband worked. Although she stayed home to raise their children, during this time, she helped in the family business of cattle ranching and operations at the Ada Livestock Auction until the early 1980's. Ms. Paula could cook for an Army, feeding many cattle workers, kids, and church members. She was also a Camp Fire Counselor, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, graduate of beauty college, and great Nana to her grandchildren.
Survivors include son, Col. Steven Stanford and wife Susan, Ada; daughters, Cyndy Meeks and husband Mike, Lula and Angie Foster and husband Shane, Ada; a brother, Ricky Scott and wife Ginger, Owasso; sister-in-law, Vicky Butler, Norman; her grandsons, Brandon Meeks, Lula, Cade Stanford, Midland, TX, Riley Stanford, Ada; Ben and Jake Foster, Ada. Her granddaughters, Laura Foster and husband Darrin, Ada, Cassie Smee and husband Clinton, Stonewall, Miranda Harris and Travis Harrison, Norman, OK. Great grandchildren include Dax Foster, Hallie, Cheyanne and Adrianna Smee; and Madison and Meredith Harrison; along with many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Stanford; daughter, Nancy Coplen; brother, Warren Scott; and sisters, Deon Timmons, Glenda Johnston and Denise Scott.
Pallbearers will be Cade Stanford, Dustin Sparks, Travis Harrison, Marc Harden, Shane Foster, and Ben Foster.
