Services for Paul Wayne Murphy, 99, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Ada, are 2:00 pm Monday, December 13, 2021 at First Free Will Baptist Church, his son, Charley Murphy and John Henry Lippard will officiate.  Burial will follow at Center Cemetery.  Visitation at Criswell Funeral Home will be Sunday, December 12, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.

Mr. Murphy passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his daughter's home in OKC.  He was born November 24, 1922 in Ada, OK to Thomas Jay and Carrie Alice Robinson Murphy.

He attended Irving, Ada Junior High, graduated from Vanoss and later attended East Central.  He married Wanda Jo Cox, August 21, 1943.  Mr. Murphy joined the Army and served in WWII.  He was active in the Garr Corner and Free Will Baptist Church of Ada for more than 60 years.  He served as the music director, Sunday School teacher and Trustee.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two sons, Larry Murphy and wife, Barbara, of Moore, OK, and Charley Murphy and wife, Janie, of Clinton, OK; daughter, Paula Bloom, of OKC; two sisters, Delores Layne and Bonnie Braley; sister-in-law, Beverly Franz and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Brian Murphy, Carrie Buzzelli, Amy Skaggs, Rebecca Murphy, Shelley Cook, Brandon Bloom and Brian Bloom; and 10 great grandchildren.

Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his brothers, J.T. Murphy and Charles Murphy; twin sister, Juanita Beller; son-in-law, Gary Bloom, and great grandson, Patrick Murphy.

Bearers are Brian Wayne Murphy, Brandon Bloom, Brian Paul Bloom, Aaron Cook, Charles Cook and Griffin Bloom.

Honorary bearers are Jason Skaggs, Tony Cook and John Buzzelli.
